She Speaks is a community event to showcase women at Illinois Wesleyan University by providing a platform to share their stories, ideas, and passions.

She Speaks is powered by PechaKucha, an international event where artists, designers, and creative minds come together for a live, high-energy extravaganza. The PechaKucha format, 20 slides in 20 seconds each, allows presenters only 6 minutes and 40 seconds each to strut their stuff. This keeps presentations concise and the interest level up. PechaKucha presenters come from a wide range of fields — activists, architects, artists, chefs, coolhunters, critics, designers, dreamers, entrepreneurs, fashionistas, historians, makers, photographers, and scientists, to name a few.
